I get really frustrated when I'm getting ready in our bathroom. I long for a drawer. Just one little drawer for my brush. And the toothpaste. And my moisturizer. And some makeup. OK, maybe I'd really like two drawers, but that's not what this post is about. It's about this
*cue angels singing*
So it might not look glorious to you, but it's a game changer for me. I don't have to get down on my knees and go digging under the sink to find my brush every morning!
It all started with some tomato paste. I made chili last week just so I could get my hands on these sweet little cans.
I used the can opener to take the bottom off (as well as the top).
Wrapped it in a piece of scrapbook paper
taped it up
and sealed it with some Mod Podge.
I just bought this over the weekend
It's a gallon! Amazing, right? I might just Mod Podge anything in the house that doesn't move (or move fast enough)
Back to the brush holder. I used some command strips to attach them to the inside of the cabinet door. I used hot glue an adhesive called Duco Cement to secure the can to the command strip.
Here's where I used to keep the brushes
...and you thought I was all organized, didn't you? What a mess. At least these brush holders should help a little.
Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Jamie

ReplyDeleteA. Freaking. Amazing. I love this idea. I think when I move in August I am SO going to be making me some brush holders... maybe a comb and toothbrush holder as well. Thanks for sharing.. I am officially a new follower.
ReplyDeleteI have two sets of plastic drawers can purchuse at Walmart on each side. I have the deep ones for things like blower dryers and hot irons then there are the smaller drawers for makeup tooth paste. I put a deep drawer and a small drawer on the other side. Wonderfully organized. Can even label the drawers...the drawers are also good in a hall closet for medicine.
ReplyDeleteLove your idea! So simple yet so smart! I would love to have you share this at my party...going on now through Friday. :)

ReplyDeletegail
Look on pinterest for DIY modpodge for a good alternative.
ReplyDeleteAnd this genius idea is what made me your newest follower. Can't wait to see more clever ideas you've got. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG this is so genius! I recently moved into an apartment and I have NO storage in our bathroom it's ridiculous. I have nothing underneath my sink so everything is shoved into our medicine cabinet and that leaves NO room for my brushes. Leaving them lay on top of our toilet. Instead of putting it inside my cabinet I'm going to put them on the side of the cabinet! You literally saved me so much room and it'll look so much cleaner. Can't wait to do this this coming weekend! :) Again, you're a genius! haha.
ReplyDeleteNewest follower, come check out my blog. Maybe I'll even post about it. haha!
